Some wedding lovelies in the works....

I've always wanted to try doing this and I finally did, a whole piece that looks like a flower. I'm not quite done, but this is the collar to a warm caplet with silk and lace from the 1920s. Will put more photos up when it is finished, and it is for sale. Just send me a message if interested in this or something like it.

After spending too much time in our freezing basement, which is my current art studio, sewing, sewing, sewing for a new winter clothing line, I decided maybe it's time to focus on why I started designing in the first place......wedding dresses. I want to work one on one with friends and others to create their dream dress. Most of my training and experience is in this line of work and it's what I love, and hopefully you will too!

So....introducing Allison JoVone Wedding Line!

This new line will focus on wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, caplets, lingerie and other wedding and formal essentials.

This dress featured above is not your traditional piece, but is for sale and my first item in this new launch. More photos and lovelies to come....

Petal Peach Dress... a strapless fifties cut cotton dress with a slight open back and a flouncy top.

1940's style navy blue dress, bias cut and knee length with flowy sleeves and a beautiful draping bow in the back..

1920's style pink satin dress with bias cut in front and back. The lace collar is actually from the 20's.

Brown Satin top with lace undershirt and cream lace collar from the 1920s.

White back of dress is the back of previously posted dress. The fabric for that dress is from the early 1900's and the lace in it is from the 1930's....

Well it has been quite awhile since my last post due to school and such. But, good news, the fabric from my last post has been loved and used and I have four new designs that I'm shooting soon....
two bias cut dresses....a dress made from an early 1900's underskirt and two 1920's lace collars have been thrown into the mix.
Will have the photos soon, just need better weather

For the past couple of weeks I've been in search of a 1900's underskirt to turn into a modern dress and I finally found one, along with several yards of tiny lace from the 1930's and was able to bring them together. So far it's a little A-line dress, but I'm stuck on how I want the top and sleeves.

Currently.... I found three beautiful lace collars from the 1930's the last time I visited Eugene and then purchased some silk....I think they'll turn into a blouse and 1920's style dress. We'll see!

1920's Style Lace Dress
This is a pretty old piece, in fact it's one of the first dresses (successful dresses) I made, but I think it fit's nicely into the theme of my current work. It's the straight bodied, deep v neck and back and I sometimes wear it with a black silk scarf around the waist with a bow in the back.

Come Rain or Come Shine....
I love this time of year because it causes me to go indoors and create, create and create!
So here are some new pieces I've been working on:
Including this sheer grey, knee length dress that fits perfectly with a gold slip underneath. The lace appliques are a few pieces from the 1920's I found in Seattle awhile ago.
